Can I use a phone camera?
Yes. Use a clear, sharp source portrait with even lighting. The final image still needs document-specific preparation.
What background should I use?
Use the background required by the selected document. A common white background is not a universal rule.
How far should I stand from the camera?
Frame the source so the face is not distorted by a very close wide-angle shot. Leave enough space around the head and shoulders to allow correct crop and framing.
Should I use a beauty filter?
No. Avoid beauty filters and facial retouching when the authority requires an unaltered image.
