There are two separate questions here: “Can I make this image?” and “Will the authority accept it?” Good preparation answers the first without pretending to control the second.
The print-to-screen method
- Decide whether the final deliverable is digital, printed or both.
- For print, set the physical paper and photo size before laying out copies.
- For digital, set the specified pixel dimensions and file format.
- Run a visual inspection and a numeric check.
- Make a test output when the application is sensitive to scaling.
Make the next step obvious
Name the final file with the destination, such as US-visa-600x600.jpg or uk-passport-45x35mm.jpg. Clear filenames reduce errors when several versions are open on the same device.
Authority-specific checkpoints
- UIDAI treats the facial photograph as biometric information captured at enrolment and update.
- UIDAI guidance asks the operator and applicant to check the accuracy and clarity of the photograph during enrolment/update.
Keep the requirement beside the file
Save the official page or instruction note with your application records when the task matters. Requirements change, and your future self should not have to reconstruct which version of the rules you followed.
Re-check the same pages before submission if the application is time-sensitive.
Indian identity documents are not one single photo standard
India is a good example of why a generic “ID photo size” chart can mislead. PAN Form 49A specifies two recent colour photographs of 3.5 × 2.5 cm with a white background for the paper-form route. ECI Form 6 uses a recent unsigned 4.5 × 3.5 cm colour photo with a white background. Parivahan Form 4 refers to three recent passport-size photographs, with a note about laminated-card use. UIDAI treats the facial photograph as biometric information captured or updated at an enrolment centre. These are different workflows, even though all four are casually described as “ID photos.”
That difference is exactly why FastIDPhoto should be used as a preparation tool rather than a universal authority. Choose the document first, then build its output.
What to remember from this page
For a family or multi-document job, label each output with both person and destination. It takes seconds and prevents mix-ups when several similar photographs are sitting in the same folder.
Aadhaar Photo Requirements
Once you know the current size and file rules, the Studio can handle the crop, background and output preparation.
